Nationwide — Raven Symoné recently revealed the passing of her father, Christopher Pearman, in a heartfelt post shared on Instagram. On Tuesday, October 1, the actress uploaded a touching photograph of herself as a child alongside her father. In the caption, she reflected on the journey of her life and how it all began with her father’s support.
“My life has been long and full of blessings,” the 38-year-old former Disney star wrote. “The dream I followed started with him, and I hope he’s watching proudly from above. #christopherbpearman.” Though Symoné did not provide many details, her message was filled with emotion and gratitude.
According to People, in response to a follower’s comment asking for confirmation of her father’s passing, Symoné quietly replied, “Yes maam.” The actress has kept much of her personal life, including her family relationships, out of the public eye. However, it is known that Pearman was a key figure in her early career, guiding her as her manager when she was a child star.
In an interview with NPR in June 2010, Pearman discussed stepping down from managing Symoné’s career. He shared how important it was for his daughter to take control of her professional life, noting that she had told him, “Daddy, I can run my own company.” Pearman expressed pride in her growth, knowing that she was ready to forge her own path.
Despite no longer being her manager, Pearman said he wasn’t hurt by the decision. “I’ve managed her since she was six months old,” he said, comparing it to a parent watching their child go off to college. “It was just time for her to take the reins and create her own future.”
This loss follows another recent family tragedy. Nearly a year ago, Symoné disclosed that her younger brother, Blaize Pearman, had passed away after battling colon cancer. In an emotional Instagram video, she shared the bittersweet moment of celebrating her birthday while grieving his loss, emphasizing the roller coaster of emotions her family has endured.
