I
I’ve been an American Express Platinum cardholder for twelve years.
With a $695 annual fee, you may wonder: what is point of having such a high-priced credit card? But after using my card extensively for several years… I can’t stop recommending it to my friends, and telling them all the reasons why the fee is SO worth it because you get way much more back in value every single year!
There are too many card benefits to list out in one post, so today I’m sharing the five benefits that I get the most value from. And if I can’t convince you, you can read the full list of AmEx Platinum card benefits HERE.
1) free CLEAR® membership
If you’ve ever stood in a long airport security line, watched other people being escorted to the front like VIPs, and wondered, “why can’t that be me?” — it absolutely CAN be you, with an AmEx Platinum! Valued at $189/year, your CLEAR® membership places you at the front of just about any queue you can imagine not wanting to be in: concert arenas, sport stadiums, airport security, and more. American Express will cover the cost of your membership in statement credits when you pay for CLEAR® with your Platinum card.
2) $200 UBER cash
With your American Express Platinum card, you receive $15 in Uber Cash to use on eligible rides and Uber Eats orders every month, plus a bonus $20 in December, delivered through your Uber app. That’s up to $200 every year for your Uber rides and deliveries!
3) by invitation only® experiences
If you’re looking to knock some once-in-a-lifetime activities off your bucketlist, American Express offers By Invitation Only® experiences that you can only access as a card member. You can meet and greet a beloved celebrity, get VIP tickets to a sports game, attend an intimate film screening… or like I did, attend your favorite show at Paris Fashion Week!
4) global dining access on RESY
This is probably one of my most-used benefits — if you live in New York City, you already know how hard it is to get a table at the most popular restaurants! The American Express Global Dining Access program gives cardholders access to the most sought-after restaurants, and gives you priority notification when tables open up at spots you have your eye on. Now you can impress your friends with that coveted restaurant reservation!
5) $200 statement credit for airline fees
Are you a frequent flyer? You can get up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year when incidental fees, like checked bags and in-flight refreshments, are charged by the airline to your Platinum Card® Account.
So… are you convinced yet? I knew you’d be! You can get started on these benefits and more by applying for the American Express Platinum card HERE, and you can earn up to 80,000 membership reward points within the first six months of your card membership! Offer Terms.
