Angel Blue stars in Tosca at LA Opera’s season at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion thru Dec. 10, 2022 – https://www.laopera.org/performances/202223-season/tosca/
*The 2021 Eva and Marc Stein Artist Award recipient Angel Blue captivates in the leading role of Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, based on Victorien Sardou’s play La Tosca with the libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica.
Diva Angel Blue’s exquisite soprano is joined in the cast by tenors Michael Fabiano, Anthony León & Gregory Kunde, bass Philip Corkorinos, bass Wei Wu, bass-baritone Ryan McKinny, bass Zachary James, baritone Ryan Wolfe, and mezzo-soprano Deepa Johnny.
Tosca is a classic operatic tale of love, jealousy, deception and murder. Conductor Louis Lohrased and director John Caird achieve artistic harmony as the story evolves visually, emotionally and musically.
However, after death befalls a character in act three, the choice of where the dangling corpse remains is questionable, hauntingly distracting, and inhumane, given the spectacular performances in the foreground.

Still, this is a proud moment for Angel Blue and LA Opera.
“Similar to our season-opening production of Lucia di Lammermoor, this season’s revival of Tosca is headlined by an extraordinary artist who received early training as a member of our Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program,” said Christopher Koelsch, LA Opera’s president and CEO.
He added: “Angel Blue is a brilliant soprano who has emerged as one of the most exciting artists of our era and I am thrilled to welcome her back to our stage for the first time in more than a decade.”
