*Auburn forward Johni Broome apologized to Morgan Freeman for smacking his hand after thinking the actor was a fan.
NBC News reports that Freeman, an Ole Miss fan, sat courtside at The Pavilion for Saturday’s Rebels’ game against Auburn. During the second half, Broome lost his balance as he tried to save the ball from going out of bounds. Two fans grabbed him in an attempt to help him get back on his feet, including Morgan. But Broome swatted his hand away, unaware that it was the Academy Award-winning actor.

“I kind of got his hand off,” Broome told reporters after the game. “I saw who it was and I’m a big movie guy. I probably watched one of his movies on the plane coming here.

“But I realized it was him and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m a big fan. I’m sorry.’ He said, ‘Just keep playing.’”
In the course of the game, Broome went back over to Freeman and apologized.
“I’m just like, ‘I’m sorry, again,’” Broome said. “He said, ‘You all good. Just keep playing.’ He’s a very good guy. Love him.”
The Tigers defeated Mississippi 91-77.
