Topicals, the winner of Ebony’s 2022 Beauty and Grooming Award for Best Brightening Mask, has released its new Sealed Active Scar Primer. The product is great for acne-prone skin as it smooths, resurfaces, and primes.
“Our goal at Topicals is to create revolutionary products in categories that feel off-limits or impossible to innovate in. I’m so proud of our team for delivering a first-of-its-kind product for people who have acne scarring and large pores,” Olamide Olowe, Founder, CEO Topicals said. “I have personally tested Sealed since October of last year because I have large pores and the amazing results reminded me of the way I felt when we created Faded, which has become one of the top discoloration products. Additionally, I believe storytelling and collaboration are essential in transforming the way people feel about skin, so our partnership with Tia Adeola felt like two creative forces colliding in the most perfect way. As a Nigerian woman, I feel honored to have the privilege to make my creative thoughts a reality in collaboration with another creative, Nigerian woman.”
The new dual-action resurfacing acne scar primer immediately fills pitted scars and large pores while improving skin texture over time. The cutting-edge 2-in-1 hybrid formula combines the efficacy of powerful ingredients with visible, instant results. Medical-grade silicone provides a unique delivery system, which is clinically proven to treat acne scars. The innovative technology creates a breathable, translucent film over the skin, facilitating the optimal environment for skin renewal–instantly filling in and smoothing pitted acne scars and large pores for a primed, soft matte finish. With daily use, the appearance of scar depth is reduced.
As with anything, if you want it to work, you have to be consistent. To best help get rid of your acne scars, Sealed should be used daily for eight weeks. Use a small amount—yes, a small amount—and apply it to pitted scars or enlarged pores. Allow the product to sit for 30 seconds before applying sunscreen and makeup. Do not massage the product, as it is intended to remain on the surface, filing and smooth uneven texture.
“According to a study that utilized the dermatology quality of life index questionnaire, 66% of participants stated that acne scars had an effect on quality of life,” Tamar Kamen, VP of Product Development shared. “As a brand that feels strongly about mental health, we wanted to support this enormous population with a product that is accessible and effective at treating atrophic, or pitted acne scars which have historically not been addressed with a topical skincare product.”
Sealed is available at mytopicals.com, sephora.com, and starting on August 18 at all Sephora US locations.
