Frequency People is the Black-owned social collaboration platform that lets creators control almost every aspect of the online communities they build.
Individual users and businesses can create a public or private community to connect with those with similar interests. Followers can join these communities or networks and choose to pay for access to exclusive content.
This means that brands, influencers, artists, and other creatives can seamlessly monetize their followers through ticket sales, ads, subscriptions to exclusive lives, AR content, and NFTs.
Atlanta-based duo John York and John McAdory founded Frequency People, formerly known as Spokehub, in 2017.
According to a press release, Frequency People is the first Black-owned company to be supported by Google’s Black Founders Exchange.
“Our app allows you to build your community, your way. It isn’t about the quantity of followers, it’s about the quality of engagement,” York said in a statement.
“We wanted to create a space where users could thrive within their communities and offer a place for authentic engagement built-in with enterprise solutions,” added McAdory.
Users can also access real-time data, marketing options, and customization, such as customizing moderation tools to set their own “frequency.” In doing so, users can join communities that fit their style and standards.
“We’ve been doing social media the same way for way too long,” York added. “It’s time that users get access to more control over the content they create, the conversations they have, and the communities they want to build.”
