(BPRW) Jessie Trice Community Health System Provided Free Dental Care To Uninsured Children During their “Give Kids A Smile Day!”

Special guests included NFL Players Chatarius “Tutu” Atwell and Zach Sieler

(Black PR Wire) Miami, FL – Going to the dentist can be scary for many children, but recently, some of the children in Miami-Dade County had an enjoyable experience thanks to Jessie Trice Community Health System (JTCHS). In recognition of National Children’s Dental Health Month,  JTCHS held the GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY. The event took place on Saturday, February 11, at the JTCHS Corporate Office Complex in Miami, Florida.

Over 50 uninsured children from the community received free general dental services that included treatments like screenings, cleanings and sealants. In addition to receiving healthy smiles, the children had the opportunity to meet NFL players Chatarius “Tutu” Atwell, a wide receiver for Los Angeles Rams, and Zach Seiler, a defensive end for the Miami Dolphins.

“Jessie Trice Community Health System has an ongoing commitment to serving the underserved,” said Dr. Deborah George, EVP/Chief Dental Officer of JTCHS. “We understand that many families in our community do not have dental insurance coverage, and this is a great way to give back and provide kids with proper dental care.”

The children had a fun time with the NFL players signing autographs, a DJ, free food, face painting, free arts and crafts, games and prizes.

“Many of these children have never been to the dentist, “said Dr. Olamide Atanda, director of the JTCHS Pediatric Oral Health and Wellness Program. “Through these events, we want to provide them with a memorable experience while teaching them and their parents about the importance of oral health.”
