(BPRW) Rich Paul, Author of “Lucky Me” Memoir, to Headline Day One at the Second Annual Black Sports Business Symposium in Atlanta on April 13, 2023
(Black PR Wire) RICH PAUL, CEO and Founder of KLUTCH Sports Group and Head of UTA Sports, will headline day one of the second annual Black Sports Business Symposium in Atlanta, GA on Thursday, April 13.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium will once again serve as the Symposium venue host in an effort to create a more inclusive and equitable professional sports community. The inaugural year of the Symposium saw tremendous support from multiple organizations across the sports industry through ideation, in-kind giving and industry support including AMB Sports and Entertainment, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, and the Los Angeles Rams.
Paul founded KLUTCH Sports in 2012 in his hometown of Cleveland, OH, where he forged a unique and personal approach to representing top NBA talent – putting athletes first and empowering them to build careers and brands on and off the court. He will join ESPN and Andscape journalist Jesse Washington for an exclusive fireside chat: “Empowerment Through Community.”
“Community is the foundation of all my work,” said Paul. “This community is what taught me how to serve and uplift athletes, how to create our own businesses, how to excel in challenging environments, and how to think beyond traditional ideas imposed on us by the sports industry’s old guard. I’m excited to share some of my personal strategies and lessons with this group of present and future leaders.”
Lucky Me: A Memoir, will be available in October and published by Random House and Jay-Z’s Roc Lit 101. The book highlights Paul’s journey from a challenging childhood in one of America’s toughest cities to leading one of the most influential and culturally relevant sports agencies in the country.
The Black Sports Business Symposium, powered by ESPN, will take place from April 13-15. The Symposium was founded by sports industry executives – HBCU Battle of the Brains Founder and Executive Director Gregory Gibson Jr., NFL Network Senior Correspondent Steve Wyche, and Los Angeles Rams Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff – to serve as the epicenter for Black talent acquisition, engagement and development for sports organizations driving impact within the industry.
“On behalf of the Black Sports Business Symposium, I am excited to share the news that Rich Paul will be headlining day one in a conversation with acclaimed writer Jesse Washington. Our attendees will undoubtedly be positively impacted by their words in person, and by Rich’s unique and compelling journey,” said Gregory Gibson Jr., Co-Founder & CEO of the Black Sports Business Symposium.
In acknowledgment of the need for greater diversity in sports and the barriers of entry that exist for young people, AMB Sports and Entertainment Chairman and Owner Arthur Blank has once again committed to sponsoring student attendance through The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation so deserving young professionals can benefit from the event.
