*Brandy is set to drop her first holiday album, “Christmas with Brandy” on November 10 via Motown Records.
“Christmas with Brandy” will feature classic covers and original holiday material and marks Brandy’s first album since 2020’s critically acclaimed “B7.”
“Christmas with Brandy” includes the tracks “Someday At Christmas,” originally sung by Stevie Wonder, “Jingle Bells,” and “Deck the Halls.” Per the news release, other highlights include “Christmas Gift,” which finds the Grammy Award-winning R&B icon having a rollicking good time with her daughter Sy’Rai.
The album will be released nearly a week before Brandy’s Netflix film “Best Christmas Ever” debuts on the platform on November 16. The singer stars as Jackie, with Heather Graham portraying Charlotte, and the pair play old college friends who unexpectedly reunite for the holiday.
“Every Christmas Jackie sends a boastful holiday newsletter that makes her old college friend Charlotte feel like a lump of coal,” teases an official plot synopsis, People reports.

“When a twist of fate lands Charlotte and her family on Jackie’s snowy doorstep just days before Christmas, she seizes the opportunity to prove her old friend’s life can’t possibly be that perfect,” the synopsis continues.
Directed by Mary Lambert, “Best. Christmas. Ever!” also includes Jason Biggs, Matt Cedeño, Wyatt Hunt, Abby Villasmil, and Madison Skye Validum.
Lambert told Today.com that Brandy “exudes joy and happiness, and when she walks in the room and when she’s ready to be part of the group, everybody is just so happy.”
She added. “It’s like a shining light … She just sort of breathes you in and then she breathes you back out. And you’re better when she breathes you back out.”
Lambert also noted that while Brandy’s character embraces “the joy and the fun and the belief [of]the season,” Graham’s character “doesn’t like Christmas” because it “makes her feel inadequate.”
“I think there’s a lot of people that feel that way sometimes,” she added.
“You get together and everybody reacts to the holidays in a different way,” Lambert said. “But everybody wants to be happy at the foundation of it all. Everybody really wants to just fight against the darkness and celebrate that the shortest day of the year is gone and it’s kind of going to start getting lighter and brighter from there on.”
