Overview: California voters will soon receive mail-in ballots for the November 5 election, and will be asked to vote on ten propositions, including rent control, minimum wage, and same-sex marriage. Both Republicans and Democrats are spending millions on advertising campaigns to sway voters, making it difficult to discern truth from misinformation. Black Voice News will present a new social media series highlighting key information about each ballot measure to help voters make informed decisions. It is important to vote all the way down the ballot to ensure that each vote aligns with the voter’s intention.

The ongoing stream of political outrages at the national level appear to get more and more bizarre each day as much as we must watch what is happening at the national level during this Presidential Election cycles, we must not allow it to distract us from the political battles at the state and local levels.

Although there are unique battles for elected officials occurring at the state and local levels, there are some contests, like the U.S. Senate race for example between Democrat Adam Schiff and Republican Steve Garvey, that are of statewide interest.

California voters will begin receiving Mail in Ballots around October 7 and Early Voting begins in California on October 26.

Between now and then, and continuing to Election Day, November 5, California voters can expect to be bombarded with election media related to anything and everything related to the election from president to local representatives. One area certain to lead to sensory overload as it relates to what’s true or misleading information as it relates to the numerous Propositions. There are no less than ten propositions on this year’s ballot vying for our attention.

“The act of voting is one opportunity for us to remember that our whole way of life is predicated on the capacity of ordinary people to judge carefully and well.”

Alan Keyes

As voters we are being asked to weigh in on everything from care rent control to involuntary servitude, from  minimum wage to same sex marriage.

Democrat Adam Schiff

In many instances, Republicans and Democrats alike are pouring millions into advertising campaigns on hot button issues in ongoing attempts to sway voters in one or the other direction. Both parties have become adept at presenting information to in ways that appeal to voters often while not always explaining what a vote will really mean to citizens. As a result, voters ma;y have difficulty discerning was is true and may at times inadvertently vote against their own best interest.

In the coming weeks watch your social feeds for a new Black Voice News social media series highlighting key information relative to each ballot measure. Republican Steve Garvey
