*Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers broke viewership records, thanks to multiple telecasts and live streams.

According to Nielsen Fast National data and Adobe Analytics, the game garnered a total audience delivery of 123.4 million average viewers across various platforms, including CBS, Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, and NFL digital properties. This made it the most-watched telecast ever.

Compared to last year’s Super Bowl, the game saw a 7% increase in viewership, with 115.1 million average viewers. Additionally, the unduplicated total audience for Super Bowl 58 reached over 200 million viewers (202.4), marking a 10% increase from the previous year.

CBS led viewership with 120.0 million viewers, a record for a single network, and the game became the most-streamed Super Bowl in history, driven by Paramount+.

The Taylor Swift Effect was also a contributing factor, as the pop singer’s presence throughout the season drew in millions of viewers who supported her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

Moreover, NFL ratings have consistently reached record highs throughout the season, with a 9% year-over-year increase in viewership during the first three weekends of the postseason. Streaming properties like Prime Video and Peacock also experienced viewership growth throughout the year.

The high demand for Super Bowl ads resulted in CBS selling out ad spots in November, with prices ranging from $6.5 to 7 million for a 30-second slot. Paramount+ emerged as the Super Bowl ad sales leader, surpassing Fox’s previous record.

Looking ahead, Fox aims to reclaim the Super Bowl ratings title on February 9, 2025, broadcasting the game on the Fox TV network and the Fox Sports app.
