*Actor and comedian DC Young Fly is set to host the new trivia show “Celebrity Squares,” to be launched by VH1 in October. The show focuses on Black pop culture trivia. It will run for 20 episodes.

The plot will have two contestants playing Tic-Tac-Toe together while banking cash and prizes in the process. Whoever ends up with more money in their account when the play ends will qualify for the bonus round, where $10,000 cash is up for grabs if they are lucky.

“This show offers a fresh interpretation of the iconic Hollywood Squares format, with a focus on celebrating Black pop culture,” said Tiffany Lea Williams, executive vice president of unscripted programming and development at BET. “With DC Young Fly’s laugh-out-loud humor, it promises to deliver a fun and exhilarating viewing experience.

Bryan Smiley, the chief content officer of Hartbeat Productions, added “DC Young Fly is an extraordinary comedian and we are thrilled to team up with him once again to lead this project.”

Some of the celebrity guests expected at the show include Kirk Franklin, Bresha Webb, Luenell, Taye Diggs, Babyface, Bobby Brown, and Tiffany Haddish, among others, reports UrbanHollywood411.com.

“Celebrity Squares” is a creation of VHI Jesse Collins Entertainment and Hartbeat Productions. The executive producers are Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, Madison Merritt, and Elaine Metaxas for Jesse Collins Entertainment, and Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, and Thai Randolph for Hartbeat. Tiffany Lea Williams, Angela Aguilera, Mimi Blanchard, and Raye Dowell serve as executives for BET, while Nile Evans comes in as the game show’s showrunner.

“We hope the audience enjoys watching this series as much as we enjoyed making it,” quipped Dionne Harmon, president of Jesse Collins Entertainment.
