*Jackson State coach Deion Sanders has reportedly been in talks at both Colorado State and South Florida about their coaching vacancies.
According to 247Sports, Sanders, 55, has been contacted by both schools regarding their open head coaching position. Black Enterprise reports that he was also a top contender at TCU. It was reported last month that Sanders would listen to overtures from Power 5 programs
Here’s what Larry Brown Sports reports: “Sanders has Jackson State at 11-0 and has proven his credentials at that level. He has said he is in no hurry to leave, but is also willing to listen to interested parties. For now, it appears he is doing just that, but he can be picky about which opportunities he might want to take.”
Sanders has led Jackson State to 23 wins over the last three seasons. As noted by 247Sports, “Sanders won two Super Bowls and appeared in the 1992 World Series, making him the first and only athlete to play in both,” the outlet writes.

One sports fan reacted to the Colorado/Flordia news in the comments section of 247Sports Twitter post, writing “Why on God’s green earth would this dude go to Boulder?”
Another said, “Those are legit worse jobs than Jackson State.”
A third commented, “I’d love to see Deion Sanders go somewhere like that. Somewhere that players can feel comfortable following him and committing to play specifically for him without having to sacrifice by having to go to a school with clear limitations and shortcomings such as Jackson State.”
Another user said, “I feel like if he is patient he’ll get better offers in the next few weeks.”
In related news, Sanders allegedly responded to reports that he is finalizing a deal to become Nebraska’s next head coach. Peep what he had to say about it via the Twitter video report below from the folks at 93.7:
