*All you Pac-12 college football fans know that today was media day and a lot of folks were looking forward to seeing University of Colorado coach Deion Sanders. However, that didn’t happen because he was scheduled for a pair of foot surgeries.

The University made the announcement in the wake of a prior operation that took place in June.

As we’ve chronicled previously, the former NFL and MLB star has battled blood clot issues for several years now. Lest you forget he had nine times during his time as head coach at Jackson State.

“Following the success of his last procedure and upon the advice of his doctors, Coach Prime is scheduled for a subsequent, routine follow-up procedure on July 20,” the university said in a statement, via ON3.

“Unfortunately, his recovery will preclude him from attending Pac-12 media day, but he is fully expected to be back coaching in time for fall camp. Everyone at CU wishes Coach a fast recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on campus soon.”

Additionally, Sanders posted his own personal announcement via an Instagram video. He apologized for his absence at media day but promised that he will be raring to go once the inbound season gets underway.

As you can see above in the video, the coach also exposed his badly disfigured foot, claiming it’s the last time we will ever see it that way.

Sanders’ previous surgery was undertaken in order to improve circulation in order for his upcoming operations; so the development isn’t coming out of left field.

Meanwhile, “defensive coordinator Charles Kelly represented CU at Pac-12 media day events along with Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter,” a statement from the university said.
