“There’s someone out in the cold; watching, waiting, wanting to get in. They see the lovers, the friends, the toasts, the connection; still, no one ever sees them. They’ll take what they need from the other side, but it’s only to survive,” read the show notes for designer Maxwell Osborne’s second collection as a solo act.
Osborne’s collection gave a subtle Eve’s Bayou vibe but with an updated touch. The pinched waisting and somewhat ladylike tailoring give the garments a bit of a southern feel. This season he defined the anOnlyChild woman through new silhouettes inspired by his classics, emphasizing simplicity but confidence. He wanted to tell the narrative of survival, empathy and reinvention with the clothing. Throughout the collection we saw tailoring, oversized proportions, ruching and interchangeable pieces that can be worn in versatile ways.
