*Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs checked in with James Corden for an episode of Carpool Karaoke as part of “The Late Late Show” on April 20.
During their drive, the hip-hop mogul revealed who is allowed to him “Sean,” while all others must use one of his nicknames.
“There’s not a single person outside of my mother that should be calling me Sean,” Combs said but noted that fellow artist JAY-Z (whose real name is Shawn Carter) is the only person who can call him by his first name, Vibe reports.
“We call each other Sean,” Diddy told Corden.

Diddy then listed his slew of aliases before noting that Corden “can call me any of the approved names.”
“I was born Puffy and then I became P. Diddy. Then they called me Diddy because I was so pretty. And then Puff Daddy and then I became who I am now, which is Love. L-O-V-E, not Brother Love, just Love,” Combs explained.
Corden then asked Diddy to bless him with his own nickname, so the artist dubbed them both “Love.”
“We’re both Love, we’re both trying to have fun,” he said.
Elsewhere in the episode, Corden had some questions about the lyrics to one of Diddy’s hit songs. Watch the moment via the Twitter clip above and their full sing-along together via the YouTube clip below.
