After almost two decades with the network, Don Lemon has been terminated by CNN. He recently became co-anchor of CNN This Morning, alongside Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. The news of his dismissal comes after Lemon’s was removed and reinstated for his misogynistic remarks made over the past few months .
As shared by the network, CNN CEO Chris Licht said to the station’s staff in a statement, “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”
Lemon posted a statement to his Twitter account on the matter explaining his lack of notice and disappointment of how his termination was handled. In response, CNN stated, “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
