The 57-year-old producer, who will be honored by The Recording Academy, will include valuable pieces of his career in the sale of his catalog. Parts of the catalog being sold will include two of his albums, particularly writing credits of his 1992 album The Chronic, which is considered a classic by hip-hop fans.

His producer royalties and share of Death Row Records, which Snoop Dogg now owns, will also be included in the sale. Much of the music included in the sale will be material from the 1980s and 1990s.
The former N.W.A. member reunited with Diddy for the first time since both were involved in the 1990s East Coast-West Coast rap beef.

Dr. Dre selling his catalog comes less than a week after suing Georgia Representative Marjory Taylor Greene for using his music without his permission. Last year, he had to pay $100 million to his ex-wife in a divorce settlement. With both instances, the Super Bowl performing producer could be looking to reestablish his finances.
