Nationwide — Teriana Mahomes, a 12-year-old African American girl from Long Beach, California, who was reportedly abducted by her mother’s boyfriend, has been found safe after an Ebony Alert and Amber Alert were issued when she first went missing.

Before she was located, Teriana was last seen around 4 p.m. on July 3 in the 6600 block of Atlantic Avenue. Authorities reported that Teriana was abducted that Wednesday afternoon in Long Beach, naming her mother’s 42-year-old boyfriend, Clark Thomas Wheeler, as the suspect.

Her mother, Theresa Mahomes, said Wheeler was supposed to bring Teriana home Wednesday afternoon but he did not.

“We went to get something to eat and things like that,” Theresa told Fox LA. “Then, we came back. He was nowhere to be found. I’m very worried. I’m very, very worried, as a mom has to be.”

Theresa expressed her frustration towards Wheeler, saying she doesn’t know why he would take her daughter.

“Bye,” she said. “Like, Bye. Move on. I’m moving on. Whatever happened, happened. They should have never did this. You don’t do that to no kid.”

On Saturday, the LAPD issued an Ebony Alert and the California Highway Patrol also issued an Amber Alert to help find Teriana. She was found on Sunday, but authorities have not disclosed how and where Teriana was located.
