Colorado Springs Man Dies in Hostage Situation

Qualin Campbell was found dead in a vehicle after Colorado Springs police officers failed to respond to a hostage situation. Last Friday, Campbell texted his wife “911” along with an alleged image of the person who took him, and asked her to send help after he was taken hostage. Officers did not respond for more than an hour. Attorneys Harry Daniels and Chantel Cherry-Lassiter, who are representing the family, stated, “The Colorado Springs Police Department and El Paso County can make all the excuses they want, but the facts are simple. This was a hostage situation where Qualin Campbell was begging for his life, his wife called 911, the police were less than a mile away but they never responded.”
