Gayle King and Charles Barkley To Host CNN Primetime Show

Gayle King and Charles Barkley are in the final stages of a deal for a new show. The two are in talks to co-host a show on CNN. This show would be an effort to boost the network’s ratings which are reportedly the lowest they have been in years.

NCAA Champion Angel Reese Turns Down First Lady Biden’s White House Invitation

After controversy over her performance during the NCAA championship game and enthusiasm over winning, many have called LSU’s Angel Reese unsportsmanlike and diminished her credibility as a player. During the game, she mimicked the hand motion rival player from Iowa Caitlin Clark which caused fans, largely white fans, to come for her on social media. After LSU was invited to the White House by First Lady Jill Biden, she also sent out an invitation to Iowa as well for “playing such a good game.” Folks on social media expressed disdain over this action as they felt that LSU wasn’t getting an opportunity to shine due to the potential hurt feelings of the white players. During a recent appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast, Reese shared, “I just know if the roles were reversed, it wouldn’t be the same. If we were to lose, we would not be getting invited to the White House.”

First Lady Biden apologized for the invite and stated that she looks forward to hosting LSU at the White House. “I don’t accept that—I’m not going to lie to you, I don’t accept that apology because she said what she said,” said Reese. “You can’t go back on certain things that you say. You felt that they should have came because of ‘sportsmanship,’ right? [Iowa] can have that spotlight; we’ll go to the Obamas. We’ll see Michelle. We’ll see Barack.”
