Rapper C-Murder on a Hunger Strike
Rapper C-Murder and brother of No Limit’s Percy “Master P” Miller is currently participating in a hunger strike to protest inhumane treatment her has experienced while in the Louisiana Penal System. C-Murder has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2002 shooting of 16-year-old Steve Thomas.
As mentioned in his statement of Instagram, the rapper shared, “Jan. 17, 2023, marked 21 years I Corey Miller have been in the Louisiana Penal system,” Wrote C-Murder, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2009 for the 2002 fatal shooting of 16-year-old Steve Thomas. “I have been fighting for my health and freedom against this wrongful conviction and simultaneously fighting for my constitutional rights that were stripped away and violated by the penal system of Louisiana. An appeal was filed late December of 2022 and the DA & Judge of Louisiana has 30 days from Feb. 7, 2023 to answer.”
Jussie Smollett’s Attorneys Appeal 150-Day Sentencing
After being convicted in December 2021 of a hate crime hoax, Jussie Smollett and his team are appealing his 150 day jail sentence. While his appellate brief was due to be file last August, his lawyers have been granted five extensions to complete it. Smollett’s attorneys Nenye E. Uche and Heather A. Widell are arguing the appeal on the groups of double jeopardy.
