Federal Prosecutors Will Not Bring Criminal Chargers in Shanquella Robinson Case

Months after the devastating loss of Shanquella Robinson while on vacation in Mexico, U.S. federal prosecutors have decided not to file federal charges in her murder. They recently told the family that there is not enough evidence to do so. After being found unconscious in a rental home, Robinson’s cause of death was listed as “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation.” Her passing made shockwaves across the internet after a viral video of her death at the hands of associates was posted on social media.  

Georgia Football Coach Faces Backlash for Racist Videos

Mark Taylor, a football coach and trainer, is facing repercussions for his racist rant. While recording himself, Taylor is heard saying “Staying at the Omni hotel over by the CNN. Ain’t seen a white person in sight. Homeless ones on the street. Every restaurant looking in here is Black. Every car beside me is Black. They can have Atlanta. It used to be a fun place to come to up here. They can have that place right here.” He continued, “Look at that n***** try and pull out in front of me right here. Hey, did you see that— that tree right there. Do you see that tree right there. Ro will hang you from that tree.”

Taylor owns a training center for college athletes called Speed Edge Sports in Macon, Georgia.

Billy Porter to Star in James Baldwin Biopic

It was announced today that Billy Porter will play the legendary writer and playwright James Baldwin in an upcoming biopic. The film will be based on David Leeming’s book James Baldwin: A Biography which was released in 1994. In a statement, Porter shared, “As a Black queer man on this planet with relative consciousness, I find myself, like James Baldwin said, ‘in a rage all the time.’ I am because James was. I stand on James Baldwin’s shoulders, and I intend to expand his legacy for generations to come.”
