President Biden Allocates $115 Million to Help Resolve Jackson, Mississippi’s Water Crisis

After almost a full year of suffering, President Biden has allocated funds to aid Jackson, Mississippi in their ongoing water crisis. Biden granted $115 million to support initiatives geared toward assisting the city to rebuild its infrastructure. The predominately Black city suffered tremendously from major flooding and damage as a result of neglect.

“For years, the people of Jackson, Mississippi, have suffered the consequences of aging water infrastructure. All Americans deserve access to clean, safe drinking water,” said President Biden in a statement. “That’s why I directed my Administration to make sure the people of Jackson have the resources they need and deserve.”

Kevin Hunter Jr. Reveals Concerns for His Mother Wendy Williams

Wendy Williams’ son Kevin Hunter Jr. is speaking out about his concerns for his mother’s health and well-being. In an interview with The Sun, Hunter shared that he believes those close to her are taking advantage of her alcoholism and wealth.

“They had her in a position where she was agreeing to a lot that she shouldn’t have. When I heard that, that turned me off. In trying to attempt to know what everyone’s intention is around her, at first, I was like, okay this is the team she wants to have around,” said Williams’ son. “But once I heard that she was agreeing to stuff around her rehab, I thought, ‘Well okay—they are taking advantage.’”

Wells Fargo to Settle “Banking While Black” Lawsuit

Wells Fargo has begun a private mediation to resolve allegations of discrimination by Black homeowners. Last year, a disproportionate amount of Black homeowner refinancing applications were rejected by the bank. This led to the filing of a large class action lawsuit.

“The parties are unsure at this time whether settlement is likely, but agree to work together in good faith to achieve settlement, if possible and at the appropriate time, with the assistance of a highly regarded private mediator,” said the bank’s lawyers.
