Whoopi Goldberg Apologizes for Slur

After saying a derogatory slur on a recent episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg has apologized. When describing how former U.S. President Donald Trump felt cheated in the 2020 election, she stated that “he got ‘gy—-d’ somehow in the election.” The word has been historically used in negative reference to the Romani people.

In a video posted to Twitter, Goldberg shared, “You know, when you’re a certain age, you use the words that you know from when you were a kid or you remember saying, and that’s what I did today, and I shouldn’t have.”
