It’s not every day you get to engage with some of the most powerful and influential people in our community in rapid succession. But that was exactly the vibe that went down at the EBONY Power 100 Gala inside of Nya West Studios in Los Angeles on November 17, as this entertainment and culture editor worked the mic in our Video Studio.
I found myself having several moments with attendees and awardees who have made indelible inroads across activism, education, entertainment, politics and more. From learning how they stand in their power to how EBONY has championed us as the voice of pride and influence for our community over the past eight decades, it was a night of unforgettable encounters and enlightening opportunities to give EBONY, which turns 80 in 2025, its flowers.
