How do you celebrate winning an NBA championship followed by a gold medal? If you’re Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, you drop the next iteration of your signature shoe.

The Jordan Tatum 3 is the latest collaboration between Jordan Brand and the NBA champion. The shoe has the name of Tatum’s son, “Deuce,” on the inside of the tongue and the number zero on the heel. The launch colorway, dubbed “Welcome to the Garden,” stands out with a floral pattern wrapped around the shoe between a shade of green familiar to Boston Celtics fans. The name refers both to a player who calls TD Boston Garden home and Tatum’s penchant for home gardening.

The man who proved he’s one of the best players in the world averaged 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, and had a 47.1 field goal percentage last season en route to his first NBA championship.

“I don’t take having a signature shoe for granted,” Tatum said. “I’m grateful to be in a position where I can co-create with Jordan Brand and have fans connect with me through my shoe. My favorite part of the 3s is the way they take on color, so my hope is that we inspire and energize a lot of people through the colorway storytelling.”

Tatum worked with the Nike Research Lab to create a supportive sneaker built for the hardwood or the blacktop that’s light and built for lateral movement. The Jordan Tatum 3 features layered, engineered mesh materials on the upper to stabilize the foot while allowing for movement. Cushlon 3.0 foam with a Zoom Air insert is used for the sole, and a herringbone traction pattern is on the outsole.
