Jemele Hill is Unbothered podcast
*Jemele Hill is setting the record straight amid reports that she is taking her “Unbothered” network of podcasts off of Spotify.
Bloomberg reported Friday that the “Unbothered” network, including her own show “Jemele Hill is Unbothered,” was looking for a new home, as the company “has reconsidered its expensive podcasting strategy.” Bloomberg cited “sources familiar with the conversation” in reporting that both parties are “negotiating the terms of her separation, which will result in the end of her show and network, at least on Spotify.”
The report comes four years after Spotify paid $200 million for Joe Rogan’s podcast, after which Hill said she would like to see Spotify give that much money to Black podcasters.
“What I would like to see is for them to hand $100 million to somebody who is Black,” Hill told The New York Times in 2019.”
But Hill claims she is continuing her podcast per her original Spotify contract, and that she never asked for the same deal as Rogan.
“A lot of what’s been reported just isn’t true,” Hill tweeted. “My podcast hasn’t been cancelled. I never asked Spotify for $100M. This s— is truly comical.”
People: A lot of what’s been reported just isn’t true. My podcast hasn’t been cancelled. I never asked Spotify for $100M. This shit is truly comical.

Hill was an ESPN personality who exited the company in 2018 amid political controversies. In 2017, she called former President Donald Trump a white supremacist and urged advertisers to boycott Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after he suggested that the team could bench players who “disrespect the flag,” comments that got her suspended by the network.
She joined The Atlantic later that year, and launched her podcast at Spotify in 2019.
