La La was completely shocked by her son preferring Paul George as a basketball player over his father, Carmelo Anthony.

La La was completely shocked by her son’s admission that he preferred Paul George as a basketball player over his father Carmelo Anthony.

The actress and her son Kiyan, 16, appeared on the latest episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk, where they discussed who they both thought was the greatest basketball player of all time. La La named her son as her basketball GOAT considering her challenging pregnancy and ability to watch him grow and develop into an athlete.

La La assumed Kiyan would select his dad as his top choice. However, she was blindsided by his response.

“My GOAT is Paul George,” Kiyan confessed. “Paul George is the best player ever. Kobe [Bryant], Paul George…Carmelo Anthony.”

La La was visibly shocked by the response. “The fact that you didn’t say your dad first is crazy to me,” she said, tossing the cards at him.

Fans who watched the video joined La La in questioning Kiyan’s choice.

“Yo Dad better than Paul George kid 😂😂 …… kiyan trippin,” one viewer wrote.

“It be ur own kids 😂😂,” added someone else.

Kiyan currently plays at Long Island Lutheran High School in New York after transferring from Christ the King High School in Queens last year. The high school junior shooting guard is following in his dad’s footsteps on the court by distinguishing himself as a standout player on both his high school squad and his Carmelo-sponsored AAU team, Team Melo.

ESPN has listed Kiyan as one of the top prospects in the class of 2025. So far, Kiyan has received offers from Division I college basketball schools, including Indiana, Michigan, Florida State, Illinois, and Pittsburgh. He’s also received an offer and expressed interest in his dad’s alma mater Syracuse University, where Carmelo won a national championship in 2003.

Kiyan, who has yet to commit to a college, visited the central New York school with his dad in October 2023 and posed in a Syracuse jersey with his father after meeting with head coach Jim Boeheim.
