Lance Reddick, famous for his work on HBO’s “The Wire” and the “John Wick” movie franchise has died at the age of 60.
Statement From Reps
The actor’s reps shared this statement: “Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning from natural causes.”
“Lance was best known for his roles in The Wire, Bosch, Netflix’s Resident Evil and the John Wick films,” the statement continued.
“He is survived by his wife Stephanie Reddick and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick,” it noted. “Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time.”
Cause Of Death
Reddick’s death was confirmed by law enforcement at his Studio City home on Friday morning, according to the first report by TMZ.
Law enforcement sources said Reddick’s body was discovered at around 9:30 AM. At the time the cause of death was not clear, but appeared to be natural.
The actor shared a sweet Instagram post about his four dogs just one day ago.
The post was a sponsorship with his upcoming film John Wick 4 and Hard Rock hotels. “On screen and off, it’s no surprise I love spoiling my dogs,” he wrote in the caption.
Promoting John Wick 4
Reddick, who plays Charon in the hit film series, had been actively promoting John Wick 4, and was slated to attend the Los Angeles premiere Monday, March 20.
The last time we caught up with him was for John Wick 3 where he spoke about his character and working with Keanu Reeves.
Reddick was also known for his television roles in “Fringe,” “Bosch,” “Oz” and “Lost.” His film credits included Godzilla vs. Kong, One Night in Miami, White House Down and The Guest, to name a few.
At the time of his death, Reddick had a list of projects in development and / or completed including his role of Zeus in 2024’s Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, White Men Can’t Jump reboot slated for release May 2023, Shirley, St. Sebastian and the John Wick spinoff Ballerina.
