Las Vegas Police Department Issue Search Warrant In Connection With Tupac Shakur’s Death

Law enforcement authorities in Las Vegas have issued a search warrant in connection to the murder of Tupac Shakur. In a statement, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that a search had been issued to Henderson, Nevada, on July 17, 2023.

“LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation. We will have no further comment at this time,” the department’s statement read. “We will have no further comment at this time.”

Aden Ocampo Gomez, a spokesperson for the department, said he could not disclose any more details regarding the latest development in the case, but did reveal that the investigation is “open.”

At just 25 years old, Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on Sept. 13, 1996. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Hailed as one of the greatest artists in Hip Hop history, Shakur sold more than 75 million records worldwide with several multi-platinum LPs, including Me Against the World, All Eyez On Me, The Don Killuminati: The 7-Day Theory, and several others.

As an actor, he appeared in classic films such as Juice, Poetic Justice, Above the Rim, and many more.

Proving his lasting influence, a street was named after the rapper in the city of Oakland in May 2023. 

In light of the search warrant for Shakur’s case, the Los Angeles Police Department said Tuesday there is no update on The Notorious B.I.G. who was killed on March 9, 1997.
