LeBron James is showing up to support his son in style. The Los Angeles Laker was seen courtside at his son Bronny’s recent USC game wearing the rare Nike Air Yeezy 2.
James wore the shoe to the Galen Center for the USC Trojans game against the Washington State Cougars on Jan 10. Accompanied by his wife, Savannah, the all-star athlete wore the highly-coveted sneaker in its “Solar Red” colorway, although a primarily Black-colored shoe with a pale neon green sole. Bleacher Report Kicks displayed a photo of the basketball player wearing the collectible item, who kept to theme with a Nike x Cactus Plant Flea Market Anorak in “Teal.”
The shoe was created during Ye’s, formerly known as Kanye West, short-lived partnership with Nike, which was terminated before he moved to work with Adidas to further develop their now-defunct Yeezy collaboration. The sneaker was released in 2012, and currently ranges from $10,000 to $20,00 on various resale websites given its rarity and discontinued status.
LeBron’s star-studded feature at the game comes a few weeks after his son, the 19-year-old Bronny, made his return to playing for the Trojans after his unexpected cardiac arrest. The doting dad posted about his eldest son’s journey back to his hoop dreams.
“Can’t even tell y’all how EMOTIONAL today was for me! I’m literally drained and all I can say is @bronny you’re simply INCREDIBLE,” expressed the Olympian on Dec. 10. “Damn the wins and loses that will occur. You’ve already won the ultimate goal/championship and that’s LIFE!!! Proud of you kid and today you’ve given me more life! Thank you and I love you.”
Bronny coming back for the second half of his freshman start also suggests more sightings from his legendary father, with even rarer kicks to come.
