Per The Blast report, Patterson says Barnes “intentionally spit” in his face with the “intent to harm and/or offend him.” Patterson says he “continues to suffer from injury, emotional distress, pain and suffering, embarrassment, and humiliation.”
Patterson says the insult has caused him to suffer “mental and emotional pain, distress and discomfort, all to his detriment and damage in amounts not fully ascertained but within the jurisdiction of this court and subject to proof at the time of the trial.”
The court documents include text messages between Barnes and Patterson’s fiance Melisa Andino. According to The Blast, one alleged text message from Barnes states, “Melisa are your lips good for anything other than sucking d***? Control your man he’s losing it.”
Footage of the spitting altercation was published by TMZ. Days after the incident, Barnes alleged that Patterson was the aggressor. He filed for a temporary civil restraining order against Patterson, claiming Patterson “hunted me down and aggressively confronted me.”
