After taking a brief hiatus, Megan Thee Stallion returned to the music game with a bang, releasing “Cobra” at the tail end of 2023 and “Hiss” at the top of 2024.

In “Hiss,” Meg seemed to throw shots at a number of people, including Drake, Tory Lanez, and her ex-boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine. One of the most talked-about themes of the song, though, were the shots the rapper threw at Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty.

“These h***s don’t be mad at Megan, these h***s mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start/ B***h, you a p***y, never finna check me/ Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me.”

As referenced in the song, it’s clear that Megan doesn’t know what the problem is between her and Nicki, though many fans think it stems from the fact that she collaborated with Cardi B on “Bongos” after working with Minaj on “Hot Girl Summer” in 2019.

“I didn’t feel like I had to call [Nicki] first,” Meg told Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI back in 2020. “I mean, ’cause at the end of the day, I’m still an artist and I should be free to work with whoever I wanna work with. My personal relationship with anybody doesn’t affect what I choose to do as an artist.”

This reportedly caused Nicki to unfollow Megan on Instagram, and like a lot of other artists Cardi has worked with, Nicki seemed to hate Meg from that day forward.

After Megan released “Hiss,” Nicki quickly dropped “Big Foot,” in which she poked fun at Meg getting shot in the foot by Tory Lanez in 2020.

Fast forward to September 2024, the Houston hottie is opening up about their feud during her cover story for Billboard. And just like in her original diss, Megan still insists she doesn’t know what the issue is.

“I still to this day don’t know what the problem is,” the rapper told Billboard. “I don’t even know what could be reconciled because I, to this day, don’t know what the problem is.”

Meg continued, “I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing. If people feel like I’m somebody to aim at, then I must be pretty high up if you’re reaching up at me. I must be some kind of competition. That makes me feel good. That makes me feel like I could rap because if I wasn’t the s**t, y’all wouldn’t be worried about me.”
