Last night, Netflix held a U.S. premiere of Luther: Fallen Sun at the Paris Theater in New York.
Those in attendance included director Jamie Payne, executive producer Dan Finlay, writer and producer Neil Cross, producers Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready. EBONY’s January 2023 cover star Idris Elba was joined on the red carpet alongside his co-stars Andy Serkis, Dermot Crowley and Thomas Coombes.
Luther: The Fallen Sun is now showing in select theaters and will be available to stream on premieres March 10, 2023, on Netflix.

Luther: The Fallen Sun is the continuation of Elba’s character John Luther as he seeks vengeance and vindication through the streets of London. Although the series ended in 2019, this film will pick up where he left off which a host of new and returning figures appearing throughout. While on air, Elba received several Primetime Emmy nominations and won Critics’ Choice Television Award, Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for his role.
Prior to the screening, Springhill hosted a panel discussion Meetings That Changed My Life: An Intimate Conversation with Idris Elba. Attendees were also able to see a special intimate screening of the film as well.
