*Oscar-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe is set to star in a comedy pilot inspired partly by her own time as a phone sex operator when she was in her 20s.

Titled “1266,” the show which was announced during the Television Critics Association winter press tour, was picked up by the Onyx Collective, a Disney-owned entity focusing on creators of colors and programs about underrepresented groups.

In the show, Sidibe is to play Gabby Brixton, a girl in her twenties who can’t get a steady job, finally turning to phone sex to make ends meet.

The show’s official synopsis explains that the girl’s struggles to make quick money eventually “turns into a life-changing experience when she meets the women who become her chosen family and learns how powerful, profitable and prolific her voice can be.”

As we mentioned up top, Sidibe briefly worked as a phone sex operator before she landed a role in Lee Daniels’ “Precious” — a role that proved to be her breakthrough.

In her memoir “This Is Just My Face: Try Not to Stare” released in 2017, Sidibe wrote about her experience as a phone sex operator, where she went by the pseudonym “Becky.”

“I had no idea what to say! I was 21 years old!” she wrote while explaining why she was nervous on her first day. “I wasn’t a virgin, but I certainly wasn’t some hot and horny temptress who knew what to do with that hard cock. I didn’t know what to do with it in person, and I didn’t know what to do with it in a white-male fantasy. I mean, damn!”

Sidibe will not just be the star in “1266” but also an executive producer alongside Julie Bean (“Grown-ish”), Steven Canals (“Pose”), and Thembi Banks (“Only Murders in the Building”).
