The funding round was led by Work-Bench, with participation from Runtime Ventures, Operator Partners, and notable tech founders such as Shay Banon (Elastic), Jon Oberheide (Duo Security), Monica Sarbu (Xata), and Andrew Morris (GreyNoise).
A Fresh Approach to Reliability Engineering

From open-source dependencies to service misconfigurations, the issues can disrupt releases and inflate cloud costs by up to 30%.
Prequel’s platform, powered by a patent-pending AI detection engine, aims to mitigate these problems by flagging precise failure conditions and offering actionable mitigation steps.

Community-Driven Knowledge Base
Central to Prequel’s approach is a global knowledge base of failure patterns, supported by the Prequel Reliability Research Team (PRRT) and an open community, detect.sh.
By sharing insights and failure fingerprints, the platform continuously enhances its detection capabilities.

Prequel is already showing results, with users reporting a 32% boost in engineering velocity.
