*George Santos now looks forward to being sworn into Congress on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd. But he better watch over his shoulders as well, for all is not well behind him: federal prosecutors have launched an investigation into his campaign finances. Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly said in a statement that no one is above the law, and if a crime was committed in that county, they would prosecute it.
“The residents of Nassau County and other parts of the third district must have an honest and accountable representative in Congress,” she added.
Prosecutors will be digging into the “numerous fabrications and inconsistencies” about Santos. The New York Times compiled quite a considerable chunk of Santo’s lies and fabrications, but patiently held on to the bombshell article until after the midterm elections before publishing.
One of the lies in the article is Santo’s past claim that he worked for Goldman Sachs and Citigroup after graduating from Baruch College. Well, The Times found out the Republican never worked for the aforementioned — Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Baruch College have no record of him.

It seems he also lied about his finances. He reported he was earning $55,000 per year, yet he still could loan his campaign $700,000. Prosecutors will now be looking into his financial accounts.

Now nicknamed “Long Island Liar” by the New York media, Santos narrowly won the race to represent New York’s 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Long Island and Queens are in the district. After losing the 2020 election, Santos ensured he reached out to everybody to increase his chances of winning in the 2022 midterm elections.
However, he had to fork in excess lies for his diversity and inclusion agenda to make sense. In July 2020, he claimed he was biracial, insinuating he was half-Black. Santos is of Brazilian ancestry.
In July 2021, he tweeted, “9/11 claimed my mother’s life [sic]…” The truth is that his mother passed away in December 2016. He also confessed he was openly gay and “married” to a man. However, publicly available records indicate he was married to a woman in 2012. The couple divorced in 2019. So he may not be gay after all, more so because a public record search revealed no other marriage license associated with him.
Santos also claimed he was Jewish even though genealogy records indicate he has Brazilian ancestry.
In the 2022 midterm elections, Santos ran against Democrat Robert Zimmerman, who was openly gay and Jewish, so it is not hard to figure out why Santos would insist he was gay and Jewish. But gay rights groups bought into his lies, and went ahead to boast of the significance of two openly gay candidates running in a congressional race.
Speaking to CBS2 News at that time, LGBTQ Victory Fund President Annise Parker said, “I think having these two men in the historic race is transformative for the lives of young LGBT kids in the district.”
Many have started asking how long Santos will stay in congress before the lies that worked for him to get in now start working against him to get him out.
