An Instagram post claimed Jay-Z was shooting a video for his next album but RocNation claims they are unaware of any new album.
It has been almost seven years since we received a solo album from Jay-Z. The once-retired rapper never stays away from the mic for too long but a full album is rare. Unless your name is Beyoncé, DJ Khaled, or Drake the odds of you getting a feature is slim to none. One of the last times HOV rapped at length was on DJ Khaled’s “God Did” in 2022. Two weeks ago HOV collaborated with Jeymes Samuel and D’Angelo for ‘I Want You Forever’ for The Book Of Clarence soundtrack. This immediately brought calls for a new HOV project. Furthermore, the question if HOV would ever drop another full-length project emerged and yesterday we thought we had an answer.
According to Complex, on Sunday, January 28, director HidjiWorld posted on Instagram he was working with Jay-Z on a music video.
To make excitement even more rampant he posted on his story a screenshot of him confirming it wasn’t a troll. Additionally, the second photo read “JAY Z 2024 ALBUM” and after that all alarms were sounded and social media went crazy as expected. Before the party could even get started RocNation chimed in responding to a tweet with “That’s News To Us”. However, if JAY-Z was dropping a new album would they confirm the leak especially if a director spoiled the news?
Hopefully, the post from HidjiWorld didn’t ruin anything and we get a new album from Jay-Z.
