*Russell Wilson may be “excited for what’s next” after being cut by the Denver Broncos, but he has a bit of the past to get rid of with efforts to sell his $25-million-Mile-High-City-based mansion.
Citing The Daily Mail, the New York Post mentioned that Wilson and his wife Ciara are doubling their efforts to sell their property. The couple’s home in Washington, selling for $36 million since hitting the market in spring 2022, joins their latest residence in making a clean break from the past.
News of the Denver home entering the home sale arena comes days after Wilson was let go from the Broncos on March 4. The veteran quarterback, who is now a free agent, was unsuccessful in helping the team find success in the postseason, a status they have been in since 2015. In addition, Wilson found himself benched in the final two games of the season, following the souring of his relationship with first-year Broncos head coach Sean Payton.
Before his time in Denver, Wilson was aligned with the Seattle Seahawks, where he spent the first 10 years of his career. The team’s trading of Wilson to Denver stemmed from a five-year, $242.6 million deal. As a result of Wilson’s departure, the Broncos took on $85 million in dead cap charges over the next two years. The move is noted for being the largest dead cap hit in NFL history.
Wilson and Ciara’s property is in Bellevue, a city across Lake Washington from Seattle, Despite being on the market for $36 million, the value of the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom-1.89-acre home has decreased reportedly to $26 million.

As for the Denver home, Wilson and Ciara’s hustling is active with them accepting offers and providing tours to prospective buyers for their mansion in Cherry Hills Village, BusinessDen reported in February. The outlet noted the home became the most expensive residence ever sold in Denver when the power pair bought it in April 2022 for $25 million.
The 20,000-square-foot Denver mansion sits on five acres and has four bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, according to the Post, which detailed a previous listing of the property that included added amenities such as his-and-hers walk-in closets, offices and bathroom suites, a 2,590-square-foot indoor swimming pool, a basketball court and a guest apartment with its kitchen.
Regarding Wilson’s life after the Broncos, the team wished their former team member well on March 5, saying they have “no issues” with Wilson talking with prospective teams immediately, ESPN mentioned. In a farewell letter to Denver, the football fixture voiced that he’s “excited for what’s next” while thanking his teammates and fans.
Wilson’s situation comes as the NFL gears up to start its new league year after 4:00 p.m. ET on March 13.
