“Wells Fargo has partnered with RICE, the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurship from the very beginning. Supporting specifically minority business owners to live their dreams,” Richards-Ross told The Blast.

“They had this incredible event to kick off to kind of support their business owners right before one of the most important parts of their business cycle, right before the holidays. Hearing from some of these business owners and what they’ve been able to do has been so inspirational,” she continued.

This holiday season, Wells Fargo, The Bank of Doing, and RICE will host pop-up markets featuring Black entrepreneurs’ products.

Wells Fargo recently gave $1.5 million to RICE, a nonprofit focused on boosting Black entrepreneurship, The Blast reports.

According to the outlet, RICE and the Bank of Doing recently awarded five distinguished Black entrepreneurs grants.

In a post on RICE’s official Instagram account, the Atlanta-based organization wrote, “We’re honored to announce a $1.5 million philanthropic investment from The Bank of Doing. It will help us to expand our reach and impact throughout Atlanta and beyond,” the post reads.

“As a part of today’s grant announcement, we hosted a pop-up holiday market at the Russell Center, where surprise holiday wishes were granted to five RICE entrepreneurs and support was shown to all of the small Black businesses featured,” the message continued. “This generous contribution is helping RICE to accelerate our mission to build Black business.”

“I met the founder of this organization at SXSW, and he told me about this dream of creating this resource,” she shared. “And seeing that now coming to fruition makes me believe in the power of dreams and how dreams can impact others. I’m happy to amplify that message,” Sanya shared with The Blast, Yahoo reports.

“Small businesses are the backbones of our community,” she said. “And unfortunately, minorities a lot of times have less access to resources and support.”
