Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by federal agents as part of an “ongoing investigation,” according to authorities.
A spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) confirmed that the law enforcement actions were carried out by HSI agents from the New York, Los Angeles and Miami offices, with assistance from local police.
“HSI New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners,” the spokesperson stated, adding that more details would be provided as available.
During the raid on Combs’ Los Angeles residence, law enforcement sources said the music producer’s sons were temporarily detained outside the home, which is standard procedure, before being released without charges.
While no criminal charges have been filed yet, sources familiar with the matter indicated the searches are related to a federal human trafficking investigation being led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
The raids come after recent civil lawsuits were filed against Combs alleging sexual assault and sex trafficking.
In December 2023, a Canadian woman using the name “Jane Doe” sued Combs, alleging she was sex trafficked and gang-raped by him and others in 2003 when she was 17 years old. The suit claims she was flown to Combs’ studio under false pretenses and assaulted.
Combs vehemently denied the “sickening allegations” at the time, vowing to “fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”
Another lawsuit filed in November 2023 by Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura accused him of sexual assault and sex trafficking during their relationship. That case was quickly settled.
Combs’ attorney Ben Brafman has called the allegations “offensive and outrageous.”
