44 Obama Musical Kicks Off With A Bang, Starring Recording Artists Shanice Wilson, TJ Wilkins

The dim, sexy, yet unassuming candlelit Bourbon Room in Hollywood, California serves as the backdrop for an eventful and fun night with the cast of “44: The Unofficial, Unsanctioned Obama Musical!”

“44 Obama Musical” is back in full swing, thanks to the creator of the witty, satirical production, Eli Bauman. “The Voice” recording artist, TJ Wilkins plays a smooth, confident and debonair Barack Obama, playing opposite award-winning R&B songstress Shanice Wilson (“I Love Your Smile”), who embodies a beautifully courageous, no nonsense Michelle Obama. They are joined by several political figures including Joe Biden (Chad Doreck), Hilary Clinton (Kelley Dorney), Mitch McConnell (Larry Cedar) and more, whom hilariously add depth and context to an era that would otherwise be taken at face value.

Bauman, a former Obama organizer, served as the musical aficionado that was responsible for the writing and direction of the play.

The music itself compelled a sold-out diverse crowd to sing along, clap their hands and even stand to their feet at times.  Wilkins and Wilson often astonished the crowed as they crooned a handful of ballads. Cast members Jane Papageorge, Dino Shorté, Summer Greer, and Jeff Sumner were among other playmates belting their voices and dancing on stage, all to create an atmosphere of acceptance and love while imploring the audience to gain an understanding about the political climate of the Obama era and some of it’s administration.

The musical will perform through November 18, 2023 at The Bourbon Room, Los Angeles, CA 90028.
