*Webbies, Social Heat is ready to light up your week! Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph gave a Ted Talk about how a big-time Hollywood casting director acknowledged that she was “a beautiful, talented, Black girl” but couldn’t see casting her in a movie with Tom Cruise, especially if the two actors had to become intimate and lock lips, Tom would be so lucky, tuh! Sheryl said despite feeling crushed by the moment, she decided to give main character energy and take up space and Hollywood, and we are happy she did. On a side note, name the casting director and have him to come outside; we want to talk to him!
Lil Baby (government name Dominique Armani Jones) had the grand opening for his restaurant, The Seafood Menu down in the ATL. Lil Baby’s newest venture hits close to home since the establishment opened in the Atlanta neighborhood of his childhood. Check out the joint’s IG page here.
A father allegedly faked his injury to ditch work to watch his son get drafted by the NBA. IG user @faye_lundy said the man is her father and posted, “That’s my dad he did not have to go to work 😂 and his injury is very real he dislocated his shoulder the week before then. He was just overwhelmed with emotions and adrenaline kicked in. Let’s celebrate the fact that he was there and has made a great impact on all of his children’s lives ❤️ congratulations to my brother again 🙌🏽.” Other commentators supported the father’s actions stating that his job would replace him in a minute and that he had every right to be there next to his son in his moment of achievement. We see no problems either! Congratulations!
