Sigma Gamma Rho Expands Global Presence By Chartering a New Chapter in Tokyo, Japan

In a momentous stride towards international outreach, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, a prominent global sisterhood of women, has announced the formation of its Xi Alpha Sigma Chapter in Tokyo, Japan. This historical achievement signifies a profound commitment to service, sisterhood, and the empowerment of women on a global scale.

The establishment of the Xi Alpha Sigma Chapter saw the distinguished presence of key figures within the organization, including International President Rasheeda S. Liberty, International First Vice-President Marica Harris, International Corporate Headquarters Executive Director Karen Williams, and various members of the International Board of Directors. Over 200 devoted members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, traveled from the United States and other parts of the world to Tokyo to bear witness to the chartering of the chapter. Adding to the festivities, members from the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) in Tokyo graced a private reception with their presence.

International President Rasheeda S. Liberty shared her excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome the Xi Alpha Sigma Chapter into the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated family. Our commitment to global expansion underscores our sorority’s vision of reaching and serving communities worldwide. This new Tokyo chapter joins the growing list of International Chapters for Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. The organization’s international footprint already includes the Bahamas, Bermuda, Belize, Canada, Ghana, Germany, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. With the addition of the Xi Alpha Sigma Chapter, the sorority’s global influence and commitment to serving communities worldwide continue to expand.
