Tommy Hilfiger recently partnered with Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Supervsn on a capsule collection. Both the Tommy Hilfiger and Supervsn brands pay homage to the community-driven origins and celebrate the multicultural fabric of the USA by championing the next generation of American creatives.
Included in the collection are 9 pieces of oversized and washed-out fabrics that reflect the LA state of mind. Featured items include: shorts made from a blend of camos and tie-dye, jackets, t-shirts and a French terry hoodie featuring a symbol for the new Americana—a play on the Tommy logo remixed with the colors of the Pan-African flag. Bold statements include ‘Trust The VSN, Not The Algorithm’, encouraging creatives to value their progress, create from a place of confidence and ignore the outside noise.
“Tommy x Supervsn is a celebration of American multiculturalism. A tribute to the people of color responsible for creating America, recognizing that the only way to make change is to work together, marrying creative visions in harmonious ways,” said Gavin Mathieu, founder and creative director of Supervsn.
“I founded my brand with inclusivity at its heart as a place that welcomes all. Supervsn give me great hope for the future by empowering diverse creatives. We are proud to make a collection fueled by community and determined optimism,” Tommy Hilfiger added.
The collection and campaign represent a Tapestry of Americana—a celebration of how communities come together to shape culture. The concept reflects a hopeful vision for the US and a call for creatives to design the world they wish to see. Hilfiger is no stranger to collaborating with emerging talent, as they’ve done so with brands Romeo Hunt and Patta in the past. Prices for the capsule range up to $200 and clothing can be purchased at tommy.com, supervsn.com or at the Supervsn store in Los Angeles.
