A suspect in the murder of rapper Pop Smoke has confessed to fatally shooting him during a deadly home invasion.

Three years after Pop Smoke was killed, more details are emerging.

According to the L.A. Times, an 18-year-old has been sentenced for the robbery and murder of Pop Smoke. The unnamed teen finally admitted to allegations that he intentionally discharged a firearm during the robbery when he was 15.

He also confessed to home-invasion robbery and to the first-degree murder of the musician, born Bashar Jackson. He will be held in a juvenile facility until he turns 25.

L.A. County Superior Court Judge J. Christopher Smith scolded both men who were teenagers at the time. He expressed disgust while stating Pop Smoke “lost his life over no good reason”.

“You have no right to take somebody’s life. You have no right to take somebody’s property,” Smith said, according to the L.A. Times.

A judge has issued a court order barring any media from identifying the juvenile defendants.

As previously reported a 20-year-old man previously confessed to entering Pop Smoke’s home with the intention to steal from him in February of 2020.

He was sentenced to four years and two months in the Secure Youth Treatment Facility, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Three other men were also charged in Pop Smoke’s death, one of whom was a minor.
