On last night’s season finale of The Bachelorette, Charity Lawson, a 26-year-old child and family therapist from Georgia, gave her final rose to Dotun Olubeko, a 31-year-old integrative medicine consultant.

Olubeko, a fan-favorite suitor, got down on one knee and presented Lawson with a flawless Neil Lane engagement ring in the final rose ceremony. “I’m certain that I want to spend the rest of my life showing you…that I’m fully committed to you as you stand here in front of me,” Olubeko said in his proposal.

Lawson announced they wanted to get married, “sooner rather than later,” when introduced as an official couple during the season finale.

The newly engaged couple was gifted a dream trip to Greece by the series. Olubeko also got to surprise his future bride with the news that she will be performing in the upcoming 32nd season of Dancing With the Stars.

The Bachelor franchise introduced its first Black Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay, in 2017. Lawson and Olubeko, who are both Black, follow in the footsteps of Bachelorette Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya, the first Black couple to find love through the franchise. We’re rooting for Lawson and Olubeko to go the distance.
