The story of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley will finally be coming to a theater near you. The highly-anticipated biopic stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as Marley and Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita.
Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green—also of King Richard—the film was shot around parts of Jamaica, including Trench Town in Kingston, as well as in England.
Bob Marley: One Love will delve into Marley’s life with Rita Marley, how he became a worldwide figure of reggae music, and the attempted assassination of his life. The biopic “celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity.”
“On the big screen for the first time, discover Bob’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music,” a statement says.
Ziggy Marley, son of Bob and Rita Marley and also is co-produced the film, expressed his excitement about the upcoming release.
“Tomorrow is the release of the first official trailer for the @bobmarley @onelovemovie. Nothing happens before its time and now is the time for the story of our father #BobMarley to be represented in a biopic theatrical release coming in 2024,” Ziggy shared on Twitter.
