The Book of Clarence celebrated its Hollywood premiere and after-party at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, where the cast of the biblical epic shot portrait photos after the red carpet.
In the new film, Clarence, a streetwise but struggling thinker played by LaKeith Stanfield, wants to carve out a better life for himself, his family and woman he loves, all the while trying to prove that he’s not a nobody. Witnessing the rise of the Messiah and His apostles, Clarence chooses a daring path toward a divine life, taking him on a journey of redemption, faith, power and knowledge.
Soundtracked with new music by its director Jeymes Samuel, JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi and more, the film promises to be a bold new take on a timeless Hollywood genre, definitively done from a Black perspective.
The Book of Clarence, in movie theaters nationwide beginning January 12, 2024.
